Welcome!  Below you will see all of the opportunities currently available from the New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA).

  • You must create a free Submittable account or sign in with Google or Facebook credentials in order to submit applications.
  • You can save a draft of your work if you want to finish the application at a later time.
  • If anything changes with the information you entered in your application, you may request to edit the submission
  • The Submittable platform works best on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.  Internet Explorer and older versions of Edge are not supported.  
  • Ensure that the files you upload to your application are valid file types.  You can find valid file types beneath the "Choose File" buttons within the application.
  • Check out the Submitter Resource Center for help videos and articles, as well as to reach out to Submittable's Customer Support team with any technical questions.

The Land of Enchantment Legacy Fund grant application period opens on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 12 p.m. (NOON) Mountain Standard Time. Applications must be submitted by 12 p.m. (NOON) Mountain Standard Time on May 3, 2024. No late applications will be accepted.

NMDA's Healthy Soil Program grants fund projects that occur between August 1, 2024, and May 24, 2025. Individual Applicants can apply for up to $22,000 to implement an on-the-ground project that directly improves their soil health. Learn more at NMDA's Healthy Soil Program website.

NMDA's Healthy Soil Program grants fund projects that occur between August 1, 2024, and May 24, 2025.
An Eligible Entity can apply for funding to implement an on-the-ground project that directly improves their soil health.
Eligible Entities include New Mexico pueblos, tribes, and nations; acequias; land grants; soil and water conservation districts (SWCDs); New Mexico State University--Cooperative Extension Service; and other "local governmental [entities] with proven land management capacity to support healthy soil".

The Conservation Planning Opportunity was designed specifically for Individual Applicants that are unable to complete conservation planning with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as required to apply for a grant of up to $22,000.

The Conservation Planning Opportunity is not a grant, but rather an opportunity to conduct NRCS-certified conservation planning in preparation for applying for project-level funding in a future grant application cycle.
